Roue omnidirectionnelle : déplacement latéral sans rotation
Quel problème cela résout
A traditional differential chassis draws an arc when turning - in narrow aisles between racks, at elevator doors and before workstation docks it often cannot make it in one take and shuttles back and forth. An omni chassis never turns around: you point the direction, and the robot slides sideways into the elevator.
Typical scenarios: cleaning narrow lanes between rows of parking spots in underground garages, point-to-point delivery between 3C production cells, hospital corridors without waiting at doors.
Comment lire les spécifications clés
- Roller orientation: omni rollers are parallel to the wheel face (0°); the 45° angled rollers of a Mecanum wheel are a different structure - do not mix them up.
- Payload and grade: the Tbot-OW-3D omni chassis carries 100-500kg and climbs 30°; small roller contact patches handle curbs worse than rubber wheels.
- Floor flatness: omni wheels are sensitive to joints, thresholds and speed bumps - they work best on smooth indoor concrete; outdoor paving should be checked first.
- Speed: omnidirectional motion is synthesized from four wheel speeds, so real speed is generally lower than a pure differential chassis - do not expect fast driving under heavy load.
