Chassis Selection: Payload / Runtime / Accuracy / Avoidance in One Table
One-line takeaway: fix the payload class first, then the structure type; accuracy and avoidance are the last filters. All 17 Tbot models use 3D multi-line LiDAR navigation, 10mm secondary localization, IP54 – differences are in footprint and motion, not "how smart" they are.

Common across the lineup: secondary localization 10mm · runtime ≥10h no-load / 6h full · IP54 (LiDAR IP65) · minimum aisle = body width + 20cm · single 3D multi-line LiDAR navigation.
Where Each Shines
- N5-3D (round 6-wheel diff): humanoid bases, indoor service, places needing 360° avoidance in a compact footprint – the most balanced all-rounder.
- S5/S8 (rectangular 6-wheel): workshop cart docking and shelves; rectangular body tracks aisles closely with high efficiency.
- X2 (front-drive 4-wheel): light delivery, reception, hotel/hospital items – cost-sensitive indoor use.
- X4/X100 (4WD diff): heavy load, sloped floors, semi-outdoor long runs – 4WD grips better.
- ACK15 (Ackermann): long outdoor campus/factory runs, car-like speed and passability, ~100kg net, 300~500kg payload.
- MW (Mecanum): in-place strafing between stations in tiny spaces up to 50kg – needs four-wheel calibration.
- OW-3D (omni): humanoid precision docking, ±10mm docking, narrow-space strafing; best slope/obstacle (30°/5cm).
- L / H (2-wheel small): under-10kg light load, teaching demos, algorithm R&D; 18m / 8m LiDAR coverage as needed.
Cost & Selection Math
- BOM low to high: 2-wheel L/H ≈ 6-wheel diff N5/S/X < 4WD X4/X100 < omni OW < Mecanum MW (angled rollers + calibration most expensive).
- Runtime: all ≥10h no-load, 6h full – no mid-shift battery swap; N5-3D net ~30kg, ACK ~100kg – count into your top module.
- Aisle needs: differential minimum aisle = body width + 20cm; omni/Mecanum strafe sideways so aisles can be tighter but need flat floors.
Common Selection Mistakes
Mistake 1: picking a model by max payload alone. N5/S/X all cover 100~500kg – first decide motion (need strafing?) and whether the body fits the aisle.
Mistake 2: assuming omni is always more agile. Omni/Mecanum dislike bumps and cables; on bad floors large-wheel differential is steadier; OW obstacle crossing is best at 5cm.
Mistake 3: ignoring LiDAR/avoidance. The lineup already ships a single 3D multi-line LiDAR – no need to stack 2D LiDAR + depth camera + ultrasound. Avoidance is shared; just pick the structure.
Three Steps to Your Model
Step 1: payload? ≤50kg look at MW/L; 100~500kg main table; 300~500kg heavy outdoor look at ACK15/X4. Step 2: need strafing/in-place rotation? Yes → OW/MW; no → differential. Step 3: floor & aisle? Bumpy/sloped choose large-wheel diff or OW (30°); flat narrow choose Mecanum. Unsure, go row by row in the full specs table, use the selector guide, or request a quote.
